Meet Ariel
Hi, I’m Ariel and the founder of Monarch Grove Counseling.
I’m Ariel, an LPCC in Carlsbad, CA, and I specialize in supporting high-functioning, anxious women who are juggling a lot on the outside while quietly feeling overwhelmed on the inside. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, carrying old stress or trauma, or just tired of always being the one who “handles it,” I’m here to help. In our work together, you get a warm, grounded space to slow down, breathe, and actually understand what you’re feeling—not just push through it. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and judgment-free, so you can feel supported as you move toward more clarity, confidence, and ease in your life.
Before becoming a therapist, I earned my B.S. in Dietetics and Chemistry from the University of Arizona. But it wasn’t until I returned to California that I realized my true passion: walking alongside others on their healing journey. I went on to complete my M.S. in Psychology in Fullerton, and now bring over 6 years of experience to my work.
My clinical background includes working with adolescents in residential treatment and adults in intensive outpatient care, focusing on both mental health and substance use. I’m also trained in EMDR, a powerful modality for processing trauma, and continue to grow my expertise in trauma-informed approaches.
I became a therapist after my own journey in therapy taught me the value of self-awareness, coping skills, and personal empowerment and I value the importance of feeling seen, heard, and supported. As both a clinician and a human—mother, wife, friend—I understand the courage it takes to begin this process. Whether you’re seeking growth, clarity, or just a space to breathe, I’m here to walk with you.
Ariel Klassen, LPCC
