Meet Ariel

Hi, I’m Ariel and the founder of Monarch Grove Counseling.

I’m Ariel, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North County San Diego. I specialize in helping adults and young adults navigate anxiety, life transitions, and the lingering impact of trauma. Whether you’re stepping into adulthood, starting over, or simply feeling stuck, I provide a grounded, compassionate space to explore what’s next and how to move forward. My style is warm, transparent, and collaborative—rooted in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals.

Before becoming a therapist, I earned my B.S. in Dietetics and Chemistry from the University of Arizona. But it wasn’t until I returned to California that I realized my true passion: walking alongside others on their healing journey. I went on to complete my M.S. in Psychology in Fullerton, and now bring over 6 years of experience to my work.

My clinical background includes working with adolescents in residential treatment and adults in intensive outpatient care, focusing on both mental health and substance use. I’m also trained in EMDR, a powerful modality for processing trauma, and continue to grow my expertise in trauma-informed approaches.

I became a therapist after my own journey in therapy taught me the value of self-awareness, coping skills, and personal empowerment and I value the importance of feeling seen, heard, and supported. As both a clinician and a human—mother, wife, friend—I understand the courage it takes to begin this process. Whether you’re seeking growth, clarity, or just a space to breathe, I’m here to walk with you.

Ariel Klassen, LPCC
