  • Yes—and it can make a meaningful difference. Therapy gives your child a safe, nonjudgmental space to open up about what they’re feeling, especially when they’re not ready to talk to you or don’t have the words yet.

It can help them manage anxiety, build coping skills, work through life transitions, and better understand themselves. Whether they’re adjusting to college, feeling overwhelmed, or struggling silently, therapy offers support at a time when they may need it most.

It’s not about “fixing” them—it’s about helping them feel more grounded, confident, and capable of handling life on their own terms.

If you’ve been noticing these signs in your child, therapy can provide the support they may not know how to ask for. This stage of life—moving out, starting college, navigating independence—can be exciting but also overwhelming. Therapy offers a safe space for them to talk openly, learn how to manage stress and anxiety, build coping skills, and develop the confidence to handle life’s challenges. It’s a way to support their growth and independence while knowing they’re not doing it alone.

  • I offer a free 20 minute consultation prior to treatment to determine if I am the right fit for you and answer any questions that you may have. The consultation also allows for me to get to know you, why you are seeking therapy and what challenges you are facing. It is important for you to get the best treatment and ensure that I have the appropriate training for the therapeutic process. If we aren’t a right fit I’m happy to refer you to a therapist that may better suit your needs. One area where my training is limited is in eating disorders.

If we decide to move forward, my sessions start at $200, I also offer a sliding scale that I am happy to discuss with you.

  • I am an out-of-network provider and am happy to provide a “superbill” from my services that you can submit to your insurance.

While most PPO insurance is accepted, because I am out-of-network you may be reimbursed in full or in part. Please check your coverage by asking your insurer the following questions:

    • Does my plan provide out-of-network reimbursement for mental health?

    • Is there a deductible I need to meet before you will start to reimburse me?

    • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

    • What percentage of the fee do you cover?

  • Currently individual sessions are solely offered online for convenience and accessibility.

Group counseling I am able to appear on site, dependent on the location of your facility.

  • Online counseling is similar to regular counseling just from the comfort of your own space. I use a HIPAA compliant platform that allows us to confidentially navigate our sessions.

Even though this service is online and “remote” I am only licensed in the state of California, therefore you must reside in California for me to legally perform counseling.

  • Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all—it depends on your unique needs and goals. Some people find that just a few sessions or a couple of months is enough to work through a specific issue. For others, especially when working through deeper patterns or ongoing stress, therapy may last several months to a year.

Many also choose to continue with long-term therapy for ongoing support, personal growth, or navigating life’s ups and downs. Throughout the process, we’ll regularly check in to make sure the frequency and duration of sessions feel right and are helping you move forward in the ways that matter most.

  • The first session is referred to as the “intake session” and is the foundation for our therapeutic relationship. We will talk about your background, relationships and relevant life events. Even though we may have discussed some of your specific concerns during the consultation phone call, we will revisit them, your goals, and what you hope to achieve through counseling. Where ever you are at in your journey know that it is okay, we will collaborate to ensure you feel heard, hopeful and motivated for the adventure.
